Thank you for your interest in Community Rescue Mission. Whatever your passion, interest, or skill, there is a place for you at Community Rescue Mission.
*Background checks are required for all volunteers who work individually with children and adult residents, as required by our insurance provider
*CRM will provide adequate training for each service area
- Telephone—Volunteers answer phones in the front office to allow our intake coordinator the ability to be where she is needed on campus.
- Childcare-During life skills and for appointments on Tuesday and Thursday. We would like for a group to provide a service tailored to children during that time.
- Celebration—Community Rescue Mission celebrates the birthdays of children in our care. Volunteers may organize and conduct birthday parties for children.
- Clothing—Volunteers help residents obtain clothing from our warehouse.
- Transportation—Background check required. Volunteers are on an as needed basis available to take care of special errands, to pick up donations, and to provide a lift to a resident for a special need such as a doctor’s visit, or an employment opportunity.
- Donation Pickups—Community Rescue Mission receives donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Prepare Dinner—Dinner is served to our residents from 5:30 pm – 6:15 pm Volunteers preparing dinner should arrive at 4 pm. We will provide instructions and ingredients.
- Office work/data entry
- Assist in the kitchen or serve a meal.
- Conduct a food, hygiene, or coat drive among your friends, group, or church.
- Teach a life skill class
- Provide professional assistance such as dental checkups
- Apply your skilled labor for light maintenance.
- Pick up a donation when needed.
- Work in the warehouse with our coordinator Jim Acord
- Landscaping, Lawn, and Gardening for beautification
- Sort and Catalog library books
- Evaluate and assess incoming donations of technology such as computers
- 7:00 am bread pick up on any Tuesday and/or Thursday morning
- Creating welcome/care packets for new residents consisting of household items already in stock
